TIF Restrictions
Tax Increment Financing (TIF) was originally designed to help fix urban blight. Now, it has become a tool of extortion for land developers. New business developments are demanding TIF to build in new areas, often pitting communities against each other in bidding wars. The expansion of Jordan should not be done at the benefit of outside developers.
Keep Jordan Family Friendly
Loitering, panhandling, and unwelcome solicitation at private homes have no place in our community. I am committed to addressing these issues and will thoroughly review all measures to prevent them to the fullest extent.
Regulation of HOAs
The residents of Jordan should not be subjected to aggressive and irrational Home Association rules. Like TIF, developers push cities to allow them to implement HOAs to restrict resident freedoms and shift city resources to the HOA residents who are already paying local taxes.
Support Local Businesses
I greatly value the local business community of Jordan and the services they bring to our town. Not only do they help shape the identity of our city, but they also play a vital role in supporting events like Heimatfest and the Fall Festival. I fully support our local businesses and am committed to helping them thrive.
Home Ownership
I firmly believe that homeownership is a cornerstone of a thriving community. I fully support prohibiting large corporations from purchasing homes for rental purposes. Outsourcing homeownership to corporate entities is counterproductive and often leads to housing instability.
Improve City Ammenities
The city of Jordan is home to many attractions that we should improve and make more visible. Things like cleaning up the foliage around the creek and waterfall at Lagoon Park, removing weeds and tree brush so the Mini Met can be seen from Broadway St, and putting in real parking lot at the Grassman Park (Ninja Park).
